You are eligible to run for the Board if you have been a professional member for at least one full year (2008) and are a current member – you must be present to be nominated.

TAAOM Survey Response Deadline Extended

We are reminding you to please complete and return the TAAOM survey sent out recently to all licensed acupuncturists.

We had hoped to receive all responses by October 15th, but due to disruptions caused by Hurricane Ike we are extending the deadline to November 1st. A stamped, addressed envelope was included for your convenience.

If you somehow did not get the survey, please contact Wally Doggett at wallydoggett@earthlink.net for a copy.

TAAOM Continue Education Event!

TAAOM Membership Drive & Fundraiser

The American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) hosted the Continued Education Conference on February 23 and 24, 2008. During the conference, ACAOM also donated a booth to the Texas Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (TAAOM) for a fundraiser and membership drive. The conference had drawn the attendance of more than 150 acupuncturists; the membership drive successfully drew more than 15 acupuncturists who signed up for TAAOM membership during the two days of the conference, with yet more acupuncturists who will be submitting their application for membership by mail. The fundraiser was organized and led by Yangfang Liu and raised a total of $702.00. Supporters for the membership drive were TAAOM members Kai-Xin Liu, Lin Jia, Bing You and Sheng Ping Liang; as well as ACAOM students Sie-Ong (Danny) Ting, Thuy Kim, Pi-Li Chen and Victoria Tu who work at booth for fundraiser. Among the items sold for the fundraiser, $600 of which were donated by Sie-Ong (Danny) Ting; $200 of which donated by Lin Jia, $66 of which donated by Donna Guthery, and $70 of which were items that remained from the October 2007 donation. About $240 worth of items remained from this fundraising sale and will be used for March 29 and 30 membership drive and fundraiser activity.

TAAOM ANNUAL MEETING

TAAOM Annual Meeting will be held on April 6, 2008.

New members for the Board of Directors will be elected. There are 5 vacancies in the Board. You are warmly welcomed and encouraged to participate the meeting. You can also nominate candidates of board member if you can not participate the meeting in person by letter.

TAAOM Member Activation and Drive & Fund Raiser

TAAOM will have two member activation drive and fund raiser activities during February to April 2008. Hope that all members to support!
