TAAOM Promoting & Fundraise Activities

TAAOM had a small fund rising and information providing at 2nd Continue Education Program at ACAOM in Houston on Oct.26 & 27,2007. The opportunity to get a membership for the TAAOM was also available.

The fund raiser was organized by Yanfang Liu and supported by Fabiane Jones, Elizabeth Morichi and Mouricio Carmona, students members from acaom. The sale items are donated by Donna Guthery, Kaixun Liu and Yanfang Liu.
They also handout membership application, HB 1028 bill and brief introduction of TAAOM.



David Weinthal also had a promoting section spoke at TAAOM Continue Education Seminar at November 10 and 11 in Austin and was able to sign up 5 new professional members and generated a list of other potential practitioners who would be interested in either going to the Capital next Acupuncture Day and /or doing some type of Austin local meeting to share and learn new idea’s to further our profession.

A Day for Health

TAAOM will participate “A Day for Health” held by “Culture center of Taipei Economic and cultural office in Houston”

TAAOM has been participated this activity for many years to promote Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture in Houston and promote the health of Houston population.

Houston International Festival

The Texas Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine participated in the Houston International Festival to promote Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine on April 21 and 22 of 2007. This activity attracted near two thousand people. The picture shows that people were in line to get information and a free consultation. There were about 1,200 people who visited the TAAOM booth during April 21 and 22 and in addition, more than 2,000 acupuncture flyers were distributed.

The Chinese embassy and the Center of Chinese Culture helped to arrange the TAAOM participation at the event. TAAOM members provided support for the event. Many thanks to those who helped make this activity a success. Participation members were: Kai Xun Liu, Marco Lee, Wendy Zhang, Kathy Liu, Lin Lu, Lin Jia, YingPing Weng, Chen Xia, Marie Tsai and Yanfang Liu.

To Promote Acupuncture On The International Festival!

Texas Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine will attend the “International Festival” in Houston from 1:00pm to 6:00pm on April 21 and 22, 2007 (pending on 28 and 29, 2007) to promote Acupuncture profession.
Acupuncturists or students who are interested in helping the event can either call 832-282-1682 or come directly to Texas Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine booth # SA 610 which is located at the entrance of Great Wall, on the street of Bagby.

Acupuncture Day(s) at the Capitol

Join us on April 11 or 12 to participate for "Acupuncture at the Capitol." This is a GREAT way to meet legislators, their staffs, lobbyists, and visitors to the capitol during the legislative session. Bring your business cards and plan to spend 3 hours (morning or afternoon), doing simple acupuncture. TAAOM uses this opportunity to spread the word about what acupuncture is, what it treats, how it feels, and how important it is to the overall healthcare industry in Texas.
Acupuncture students and office staff are also welcome to help with information dissemination!If you are interested, please contact Ivan Matula -512.517.9830 or Chris Butler - 512.327.2884, and let them know when you are available. You will be instructed on when to show up and what to bring (if anything).
